July 2018 Costa Rica Battered Woman Syndrome Questionnaire Confrence

Evaluation of Battered Women:
The Validation of the BWSQ-S (Spanish) in Costa Rica.
Date: August 22, 2018

BWSQ research team together with Dr. Lenore E. Walker presented on the evaluation of battered woman for the National Institute for Women INAMU in  San José, Costa Rica.

This conference served as an inauguration for the validation of BWSQ-S project that will take place in Costa Rica. With the collaboration of INAMU, the validity of the instrument will be tested by collecting data from battered women who speak Spanish. The aim of the study is not only to validate the instrument but to learn about cultural differences in the psychological ramifications of being exposed to violence repetitively.

The study and conference were also noticed by the national press of Costa Rica, La Nación, and the story was publicized online and in print format across the country.
